C'est la cérémonie d'entrée au lycée Sakuragaoka. Sous les cerisiers en fleur, Miou Aida fait la rencontre de Haruki Serizawa. Ils échangent alors quelques banalités. Une connexion se créée entre les deux jeunes gens qui, depuis, n'arrêtent pas de chercher l'autre des yeux dans les couloirs. Miou est une jeune fille calme et réservée ayant intégré le club d'art. Haruki, quant à lui, est quelqu'un de sociable faisant partie de plusieurs clubs. Malgré leurs différences, ils aiment faire le chemin du retour ensemble à la fin de la journée. Bien que leurs amis les voient déjà comme un couple, ils ne se définissent encore que comme des amis proches. Mais leurs sentiments l'un envers l'autre ne cessent de s'accroitre. C'est alors qu'un jour, alors qu’ils se tenaient sur les marches d'un perron, Miou ne put s'empêcher de lui demander : "Haruki, es-tu amoureux de quelqu'un ?"
